There were smiles all around at Saltwood Care Centre recently as our residents enjoyed not one, but two wonderful visits from some very special four legged guests.
Our first visit came from the fantastic Cuddle Club, who brought along their adorable lambs for an afternoon of cuddles, companionship and plenty of laughter. Residents loved spending time stroking and interacting with the lambs, with many sharing happy memories of growing up in the countryside and caring for farm animals.
We were then delighted to welcome Kate, a local farmer, who also visited with her beautiful lambs. Kate spent time chatting with residents about farming life and answered questions about raising lambs, making the visit both enjoyable and nostalgic for many.
Animal therapy visits have so many benefits, from encouraging conversation and stimulating memories to promoting wellbeing and reducing feelings of anxiety. Seeing the joy on our residents’ faces as they cuddled the lambs was truly heartwarming.
A huge thank you to both The Cuddle Club and Kate for taking the time to visit Saltwood Care Centre and helping to create such special moments for our residents. We look forward to welcoming you all back again soon!
