Our team at Saltwood Care Centre are dedicated to providing the highest standards of care at all times.

Sophie Betts

Registered Manager

Sophie is the Registered Manager at Saltwood Care Centre.

She joined Saltwood Care Centre in 2022 as Home Manager and has worked in the healthcare sector since 2008. Throughout her career, Sophie has worked in a variety of roles, developing her skills and experience across both private and public health providers.

Previously working as a Home Manager, Sophie has supported a range of needs throughout her career, including specialist dementia and nursing care. She has gained qualifications such as her NVQ 5 in Management & Leadership.

Sophie is passionate about delivering a high standard of care and making a difference in people’s lives. She understands that choosing a care home can be a difficult decision for individuals and their families and aims to make the transition as smooth as possible with care, compassion and understanding for all involved.

Sophie leads her team by example, being open, honest and passionate about providing the best person-centred care for all residents. She takes pride in her work, always giving her best and ensuring that Saltwood Care Centre is a special place for residents, their families and the team at Saltwood.

Maria Theresa Guerzon, known as Terri to family and friends and Maria at work, has worked in the UK care industry for almost 21 years.

She completed both a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at universities in the Philippines. Maria began her career in England as a Senior Healthcare Assistant, before completing her Nursing Adaptation and registering as a nurse in 2006. She completed her Nursing Adaptation at Philbeach Care Centre, now known as Saltwood Care Centre. She later continued her professional development at Canterbury Christ Church University, completing a range of leadership courses.

Throughout her career, Maria has worked in a variety of care settings as a nurse, agency nurse, Clinical Lead and Deputy Manager. These roles have enabled her to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience, providing her with the skills and expertise to ensure residents receive the very best care.

Maria has a passion for music and firmly believes in its healing qualities. Residents often affectionately refer to her as “the singing nurse”.

She is proud to be part of Integrum Care Group and to work alongside the dedicated team at Saltwood Care Centre.

Natasha Jarvis

Resident Experience Manager

Natasha joined Saltwood Care Centre in 2020, in the middle of the Covid lockdown, having previously worked in guest services.

With both her husband and sister working within the company, Natasha was very aware of the impact Covid was having on the care home sector and wanted to help. Her original intention was to return to her previous role, but instead she discovered a long-term career at Saltwood Care Centre and now works as Resident Experience Manager.

Natasha has always enjoyed building strong relationships with residents’ families and now also spends valuable time with the residents themselves. She oversees the domestic team, catering and reception, while also supporting Home Manager Sophie wherever possible. Together, Sophie, Maria and Natasha have built a fantastic working relationship. Saltwood Care Centre has a great team, and Natasha is proud of the care, dedication and support they provide every day.

Linda Writer is originally from Ivory Coast in West Africa.

She has worked as a Receptionist at Saltwood Care Centre since 1st June 2023.

Her responsibilities include welcoming visitors, supporting residents and families, and assisting with a range of administrative duties.

Prior to joining Saltwood Care Centre, Linda worked as a dispenser for a local chemist for 10 years.

Having worked with the public for more than 20 years, Linda enjoys helping people and takes pride in providing a warm, friendly and professional welcome to everyone who visits the home.

Receptionist

Hayley McLachlan

Administrator

Hayley joined Saltwood Care Centre in March 2023 as Home Administrator.

Her role is key to supporting the Home Manager and all members of staff, ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day administration of the home. Among her many responsibilities, Hayley oversees staffing, rotas, recruitment and the onboarding of new team members.

Prior to joining Saltwood Care Centre, Hayley worked in care for three years, where she developed a strong understanding of the sector and discovered a passion for helping people by ensuring they receive the highest standards of care and support.

With more than 25 years of experience in a variety of roles, including Sales Manager for a large insurance and holiday company, Office Manager for a manufacturing business and Receptionist at a GP surgery, Hayley brings a wealth of knowledge to Saltwood Care Centre. Her experience spans sales, quality assurance, project management, risk assessment, customer service and staff management.
